Quote of the week

Hate crimes complaints, I learned, are like hydras: attempt to chop up one and you find yourself facing two. Douglas Murray

James Delingpole has also incurred the righteous ire of the Diversity Police this week.

Oh, I say!

This blog really likes this little gem from the English Democrats.

English Democrats have submitted the following questions to be answered by the BBC by the end of September 2010 under Section 65 of the Race Relations Act.

To a BBC Board Member:-

A. Do you accept that “English” is a protected group (“racial group”) within the meaning of the Race Relations Act 1976 as amended;(“RRA”) if not please state reasons why not and, if yes, please specify the type of racial group within the meaning of section 3 of the RRA you accept English as being?

etc. etc. etc….

You can’t say that!

Quote of the week

29 Jul

From Douglas Carswell….

I fear the notion of the Coalition as Whig radicalism re-born, or as Edmund Burke dot com, which really would change Britain, might not have made it into this evening’s script.

So, the BBC is still trying to find a distempered right wing Tory to attack the Coalition. So much for impartiality.

How many people were electrocuted last year?

17 Mar

Well, in 2002, the last year that RoSPA compiled statistics, 8,364 people suffered domestic electrical and radiation accidents in the UK.

The fact that electricity is manifestly more dangerous than mephedrone hasn’t stopped politicians of all parties climbing enthusiastically aboard the moral panic bandwagon over the deaths, “possibly” and “partly” caused by the drug, of two (I’ll repeat that, two) Scunthorpe teenagers on Monday.

Neither, to my knowledge, has any politician, of any party, called for a ban on electricity.

A nod of achnowledgement to Tory Bear for getting this absolutely right.

That Crash Gordon election plan in full

18 Feb

Past

The Prime Miniature, accompanied by senior cabinet members, will be in the West Midlands on Saturday, where he will announce Labour’s four main themes for the forthcoming election campaign….

They will be ensuring the economic recovery, protecting frontline public services, “standing up for the many” and protecting future jobs.

Forgive me, Laura, but surely you mean….

Delaying recovery from a recession he helped to create, expanding an already bloated public sector, stifling enterprise and individual responsibility, inventing unsustainable jobs (adding to the 57% of all new jobs “created” since 1998) hamstringing industry with an ever-growing tax and regulatory burden, watching us more closely than ever….

Don’t you?

The Lizard King speaks out against extremists

24 Oct
Slimy bastard

Slimy bastard

I see Ken the reptile’s on his high horse in The Grauniad this morning, condemning the BBC for giving a platform to the racist homophobe fascist, Nick Griffin. Would that be the same Ken Livingstone who was quite happy to give a platform to the murderous IRA, the racist homophobe fascist Yusuf al-Qaradawi and the anti-Semite would be dictator, Hugo Chávez?

It’s not all bad news though. The UK electoral system, for parliamentary elections at least, is stacked against the BNP. Only an imbecile, the Lib Dems, or a shameless, unprincipled and desperate Labour party, would change it.

Oh, hang on a minute….
